Unstructured, the enterprise platform for transforming unstructured data into AI-ready structured data, announced a collaboration with Microsoft to help enterprises accelerate adoption of generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic AI workflows on Microsoft Azure.
Through the collaboration, enterprises can use Unstructured’s cloud-native ETL platform to process and prepare complex enterprise data for AI workloads running on Azure. The collaboration is designed to help organizations unlock the value of the vast amounts of unstructured information trapped across documents, PDFs, presentations, emails, images, and enterprise content systems.
As enterprises move AI initiatives from experimentation to production, data preparation has become one of the largest barriers to successful deployment. Unstructured addresses this challenge by enabling organizations to parse, chunk, enrich, and prepare data from more than 64 file types for use with large language models (LLMs), AI search, copilots, and agentic workflows.

Unstructured’s platform uses native connectors to ingest data from Azure services (such as Azure Blob Storage), and prepares that data for indexing in Azure AI Search and use with Microsoft Foundry to support scalable AI applications.
Accelerating Enterprise AI Adoption on Azure
The collaboration supports enterprise customers building AI-native applications across highly regulated industries including financial services, healthcare, insurance, pharmaceuticals, and government.
Capabilities of the collaboration include:
- AI-ready data transformation: Organizations can parse, chunk, enrich, and prepare large volumes of unstructured enterprise content for RAG pipelines, AI agents, copilots, and enterprise search applications.
- Deep Azure AI integration: Customers can integrate Unstructured with Microsoft Foundry, IQ (Azure AI Search), Azure Blob Storage, and Microsoft Foundry to support production AI workflows.
- Azure-native deployment: Unstructured can run within customer Azure environments, enabling organizations to maintain security, compliance, and data governance controls.
- Azure Marketplace availability: Enterprises can procure Unstructured through Microsoft Marketplace, enabling streamlined purchasing and alignment with existing Azure commitments.
- Enterprise content connectivity: Unstructured supports more than 30 connectors, including Microsoft OneDrive, SharePoint, and Azure Blob Storage.
“Enterprise AI is only as effective as the data that powers it,” said Brian Raymond, CEO of Unstructured. “Most enterprise data remains unstructured and inaccessible to AI systems. By working with Microsoft, we’re helping organizations unlock that data and accelerate the path from raw information to production-ready AI applications on Microsoft Azure.”
“As enterprises scale generative AI initiatives, preparing unstructured enterprise data for AI systems has become a critical challenge,” said Gustavo Blum, VP Partner Development and Sales, Microsoft. “Unstructured helps customers transform complex enterprise content into AI-ready data that can power RAG pipelines, copilots, and agentic workflows on Microsoft Azure.”
