Shield AI and L3Harris Partner for Groundbreaking AI-Driven Electronic Warfare Demonstration

Shield AI and L3Harris Team for Breakthrough in Autonomy

Shield AI and L3Harris Technologies have announced a strategic collaboration to showcase the potential of AI-enabled unmanned systems for electronic warfare. This partnership aims to enhance military operations by integrating autonomous technologies that can sense, adapt, and respond while conducting both physical and electromagnetic maneuvers.

The initiative centers around L3Harris’ Distributed Spectrum Collaboration and Operations — a software-defined Electromagnetic Battle Management system capable of rapidly detecting, collecting, and analyzing both known and emerging threats within minutes. In this collaboration, DiSCO will be paired with Shield AI’s Hivemind, an advanced autonomy platform designed to optimize decision-making and real-time response.

“Our warfighters face a complex, multi-domain battlefield full of rapidly evolving threats,” said Ed Zoiss, President of Space and Airborne Systems at L3Harris. “DiSCO will leverage Shield AI’s Hivemind software to accelerate the ability to make faster, more informed decisions.”

Christian Gutierrez, VP of Hivemind Solutions at Shield AI, emphasized the importance of adapting to sophisticated enemy systems: “Adversaries’ kill webs are complex, restrict access and put assets at risk. Countering them requires shifting to distributed, autonomous kill webs that sense, decide and act in real-time. Integrating Hivemind autonomy with L3Harris‘ EW capabilities enables dynamic maneuverability in contested environments.”

Both companies plan to expand their collaboration with additional demonstrations and integrations, aiming to deliver scalable, multi-domain solutions that will benefit the U.S. military and its allies. This partnership underscores the growing importance of autonomous technologies in modern warfare.
