SolarWinds Acquires Squadcast_ Unifying Observability and Incident Response

SolarWinds, a leader in IT management software, has announced its acquisition of Squadcast, a San Francisco-based incident response platform. This strategic move aims to integrate Squadcast’s advanced incident management capabilities into SolarWinds’ existing observability solutions, providing IT teams with more efficient tools to manage and resolve system incidents.

Squadcast has been recognized for its ability to streamline on-call alerting and incident response, incorporating Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) workflows to automate tasks effectively. Users of Squadcast have reported a 68% reduction in mean time to remediation (MTTR), saving approximately 1,000 work hours and $500,000 in costs. Notable clients include Redis, Charter, and Mailbird.

Cullen Childress, Chief Product Officer at SolarWinds, highlighted the significance of this acquisition: “With the industry battles to operationally manage and control hybrid ecosystems and the massive influx of alerts, IT professionals need a more powerful solution to cut through the noise. The addition of intelligent incident response from Squadcast to the SolarWinds Platform further accelerates MTTR, allowing practitioners to not only accelerate time to detection of incidents but to remediate those incidents in an accelerated manner, maximizing their operational resilience.”
