TestRail, a leading QA test management platform, has unveiled version 9.5, featuring AI-driven Test Case Generation powered by Sembi IQ. The new release aims to significantly accelerate test creation while preserving human oversight, security, and flexibility for enterprise QA teams.
The AI capability enables teams to generate comprehensive, high-quality test cases up to 90% faster using a guided, three-step workflow. Unlike generic AI tools, TestRail’s solution ensures human expertise remains central by allowing testers to refine and direct outputs before finalization. This approach enhances accuracy and relevance while reducing manual effort.
“By embedding Sembi IQ into TestRail, we’ve created an AI capability that truly understands testing, making it easier for every QA professional to achieve higher coverage with less manual effort,” said Jorge Spratley, Group Product Manager at Sembi. “Instead of replacing testers, our tools amplify their expertise, giving them time back to focus on high-value work like strategy, exploratory testing, and validation.”

Alongside test case generation, the update also introduces AI-powered BDD Scenario Generation, which converts requirements into clear behavior-driven development scenarios. With support for multiple languages, the feature enhances collaboration across global teams while maintaining consistency in outputs.
Key advantages include accelerated test creation, human-in-the-loop precision, expanded coverage of edge cases, and enterprise-grade compliance through secure data residency, role-based access, and audit trails.
“With Sembi IQ at its core and decades of QA expertise to draw on, TestRail’s AI delivers outputs that are practical, relevant, and aligned with industry best practices,” said Katrina Collins, AI Product Manager at TestRail. She noted that this launch marks the beginning of a broader roadmap aimed at advancing automation and predictive insights to prevent issues before they reach production.
