Palo Alto Networks has introduced Idira™, a next-generation identity security platform designed to help enterprises discover, control and govern human, machine and agentic identities as AI adoption rapidly expands across organizations. Built as an evolution of traditional privileged access management (PAM), Idira aims to eliminate identity silos and address the growing cybersecurity risks tied to autonomous AI-driven access to systems and sensitive data. The company noted that machine and AI identities now outnumber human identities by 109 to 1, while most privileged access requests still rely on standing privileges, increasing exposure to attacks.
