Nutanix has unveiled the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for the Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP). Designed as an open-source solution, the new software implements the standardized Model Context Protocol specification, allowing developer tools and autonomous AI agents to interact directly with NCP infrastructure using the Nutanix Prism v4 API.
By deploying the MCP server, enterprise IT organizations can integrate agentic AI workflows with strict operational safeguards. This capability enables IT engineering teams to accelerate routine tasks across complex hybrid cloud environments without sacrificing administrative visibility or security control.
Translating Natural Language into Secure API Actions
Operating modern hybrid cloud environments traditionally demands deep domain expertise and strict access management. While generative AI assistants can significantly speed up system management, enterprises require absolute assurance that automated actions remain secure, authorized, and compliant with corporate policy-whether executing routine system updates or monitoring network metrics globally.
