Abridge Expands Clinical Intelligence Agent Across Enterprise Health Systems

Abridge

Abridge announced that partner health systems can now extend its clinical intelligence agent to every clinician across their organizations, regardless of their existing documentation workflow. The capability can be delivered through the electronic health record (EHR) workflows clinicians already use or through Abridge’s mobile and web experience, with both options connected to the patient’s chart and enabled through an organization-wide deployment. Since launching its decision support capabilities in April, Abridge said clinicians across more than 300 enterprise health systems have adopted the technology, with monthly active users exceeding half of eligible clinicians and queries per clinician tripling over the past two months.

“Adoption of decision support has outpaced anything we’ve shipped before because it feels like a natural extension of Abridge. It understands the context of the patient in front of the clinician, it’s grounded in the evidence they already trust, and it connects to what they want to do next,” said Dr. Shiv Rao, CEO and Co-Founder of Abridge, and a practicing cardiologist. “Our partners asked us to put that experience in the hands of their entire care team: clinical intelligence that is loved by users, embraced by leaders, and ready for every clinician at an Abridge health system.” UPMC reported enterprise-wide access and more than 60% adoption among its Abridge users, while Duke Health highlighted the agent’s ability to provide patient-specific guidance for complex cases without requiring clinicians to leave the care workflow.
