TCS and Workato Accelerate AI-Powered Enterprise Integration

Workato

TCS reports 70% less discovery effort and 10x faster migration delivery than manual approaches, with every Workato recipe traceable to its source

Workato®, the leading Control and Execution Platform for Enterprise AI, announced a joint offering with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) that pairs TCS GenAI-Led Modernization Workbench, an agentic modernization workbench, with Workato AIRO to move legacy integrations, including those built on legacy integration, API, and iPaaS platforms, to Workato. Legacy integration environments are holding back enterprise AI programs and migrating them has been slow and manual.

TCS GenAI-Led Modernization Workbench scans the legacy integration estate and produces a business requirements document (BRD). Workato AIRO, the multi-agent system that serves as the primary interface of the Workato platform, reads the BRD and builds the recipes and connections. It then creates test scripts and validates and self-heals the results while allowing people to remain in the loop.

The offering reflects a shared view that AI programs stall when the integration layer underneath them is outdated, and that a model alone cannot close that gap. Conversion is the last step of the process. Customers first decide what to modernize, replace, or retire, and only then convert.

In this partnership, TCS contributes engineering depth and context engineering while Workato AIRO contributes orchestration and the path from prompt to production. Together, they compress discovery, build, test, and documentation, with traceability from the source to every recipe. For enterprises working to get AI into production, the first governed use case no longer requires starting from scratch.

Compared with manual approaches, TCS reports:

  • 70% less discovery and assessment effort: weeks of analysis reduced to days.
  • 10 times faster migration delivery.
  • 80% less overall engineering effort across build, test, and documentation.
  • 100% source-to-recipe traceability.

“AI programs depend on the integrations underneath them, and in many enterprises those integrations sit on legacy environments that are slow to move by hand,” said David Ng, Global VP, Partner, GTM & Alliances at Workato. “TCS GenAI-Led Modernization Workbench documents what the legacy estate does, and AIRO builds and tests the Workato equivalent from that record, with people reviewing the work. Customers decide what to modernize, replace, or retire first, and every recipe traces back to its source. That is what lets the first governed use case carry into the next one.”

“Workato AIRO brings essential speed and precision to the modernization process, letting our consultants protect business intent while delivering high-quality integrations significantly faster,” said Shailesh Ghaisas, Chief Architect-Enterprise Integration, TCS.
