The world’s largest internet company, Google, has declared its intention to establish its first cloud region in Thailand in order to meet the rising demand for cloud computing services both domestically and abroad. There are now 11 Google Cloud regions in Asia Pacific and Japan, including two in Southeast Asia: Singapore and Jakarta. The Thailand cloud area will join these regions. There are now 103 regions in Google Cloud.
According to Ruma Balasubramanian, managing director of Google Cloud for Southeast Asia, the company wants to complement the government’s unwavering pursuit of infrastructure projects like the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and provide more businesses with the cloud foundation they require to transform and expand.
