Samsung Unveils a Roadmap to Accelerate the Delivery of AI Chips

Samsung Electronics, a South Korean multinational major appliance and consumer electronics corporation with headquarters in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, South Korea, announced that its contract manufacturing business unit aims to provide a one-stop shop for customers to get their AI chips manufactured more quickly, integrating its memory chip, foundry, and chip packaging services, to gear up for the AI boom.

With customers working with one communication channel that directs Samsung’s memory chip, foundry, and chip packaging departments at once, the time required to manufacture AI chips, which used to take weeks, has been reduced by around 20%, according to a report by Reuters.

Samsung is one of the few companies that supplies memory chips, provides foundry services, and designs chips under one roof. The company also showcased its revolutionary chip architecture called gate-all-around (GAA), a type of transistor architecture that assists in improving performance and minimizing power consumption.
